Susannah Garden is a practicing illustrator and English teacher who has been engaged in teaching English in Moscow for 10 years, and is a strong proponent of visual strategies for language learning. She is the leader of an innovative new course for BBE — English Through Illustration.
Susannah will discuss:
- why visual learning tends to be such a powerful tool for the majority of the population
- why language students absorb and recall information best by seeing and drawing and the benefits of «experiential learning»
- why mastering English (or any foreign language) through pictures can be not only engaging and enjoyable, but a highly effective system for memorising words and phrases
- how the visual journey or «story technique» helps you memorize content and grasp the use of tenses.
